张锡銮在北洋人物中，名气颇大，是北洋授予的26位上将的第二名。不仅做过民国首任直隶总督，还做过东北“最高长官”——奉天兼吉林都督，东三省西边宣抚史等。在北洋军阀中，他不仅资历老，人脉广，亦以“智谋胆略，学识兼备”享誉一时。

张锡銮直隶都督任内为奖励有功将士特意制作并发行过若干种奖章、奖牌,目前存世的该纪念牌分为四个等级，即：头等纪念牌、二等纪念牌、三等纪念牌和无等级纪念牌，官方发行。

该组中华民国元年直隶都督张（张锡銮）银质纪念牌（章），齿边压制深峻，实物五彩包浆且光度极佳，状态上乘。该章正面为直隶都督张锡銮八分面戎装像，上书直隶都督张五个大字，右下方有雕刻师GIORGI的签名。章背面上书中华民国元年字样，中央部分有两面北洋五色旗交叉环绕。

InthefirstyearoftheRepublicofChina,theSilverCommemorativePlate(seal)ofZhangxiluan,thegovernorofZhiliCounty,hasadeepandsharptoothedge.Itiswrappedinmulticoloredpastewithexcellentbrightnessandexcellentstate.OnthefrontofthechapterisanoctahedralmilitarystatueofZhangxiluan,thegovernorofZhili,withfivelargecharactersandthesignatureofGiorgionthelowerright.OnthebackofthechapteriswrittenthewordsofthefirstyearoftheRepublicofChina,andthecentralpartissurroundedbytwoBeiyangfivecolorflags.

根据中国人民银行1980年出版的用于收兑银圆的内部书籍《中国银币图册》记载，该银章纯度极高，成色为98%。如此高的成色，在当时是极为罕见的，银质钱币类目前还没有超过该章的，考虑到质软，不易保存等因素，这也从另一方面说明了存世的该章好品不多的原因。

AccordingtotheChinesesilvercoinatlas,aninternalbookpublishedbythepeople'sBankofChinain1980,whichisusedtocollectandexchangesilvercoins,thesilversealishighlypurewithafinenessof98%.Suchahighqualitywasextremelyrareatthattime,andthesilvercoinsdidnotsurpassthischapteratpresent.Consideringthefactorssuchassoftqualityanddifficultpreservation,thisalsoexplainsthereasonwhytherearenotmanygoodarticlesinthischapter.

此组纪念章是民国元年（1912年）直隶都督张头等纪念牌GIORGI签字版一枚、二等纪念牌GIORGI签字版一枚、三等纪念牌GIORGI签字版一枚，均由沈阳造币厂铸造，意大利雕刻师GIORGI乔治监制并签字的GIORGI签字版尤为珍贵存世量稀少，十分珍贵，有较高的收藏价值。本藏品为银质签字版头等纪念牌，包浆老到，原汁原味儿，属极美品。张都督面容凝肃，目光深遂，彰显都督风范。非常难得，极具收藏价值和投资价值。
